What's happening
A Full Moon in Leo occurs when the Moon reaches 180° from the Sun with the Moon in Leo and the Sun in Aquarius. The full lunar disc is illuminated, the opposition between the two lights is at its geometric peak, and the sign emphasis falls on the fixed fire/fixed air axis of the zodiac.
The Sun is the ruler of Leo and classically rules the Leo half of this axis; the Moon is in a sign of fire while the Sun is in a sign of air. The tradition treats this combination as a particularly expressive lunation.
The tradition
Leo is the Sun's own sign — the domain of sovereignty, creative expression, performance, romance, play, and the gold at the centre of a life. A Full Moon here brings the themes of the heart to maximum visibility.
The Aquarius Sun provides the counterweight: the collective, the peer group, the impersonal system, the cause. The axis asks whether the self you are expressing belongs to a community worth expressing it for, and whether the community you serve still has room for the particular heart that is serving it.
Classical readings frame this lunation as a check-in with courage. What has been waiting to be made, said, shown, or risked? What have you been keeping small in deference to a group that was not actually asking you to?
How to work with it
Be visible. Finish the creative work and let it out. Tell the person. Wear the thing. Leo Full Moons tend to reward whatever has been prepared in private and is ready for a room — and tend to punish the reflex of hiding the work for one more week.
This is also useful weather for the group question: whether the community, team, or network you belong to is the right one for the self you are growing into. Sometimes the answer is yes; the Full Moon just makes it obvious how.
The shadow is melodrama — the performance of feeling rather than the expression of it. Leo's real test is dignity, not spectacle.
The simple rule
Ask what your heart has been preparing and has not yet released. The Full Moon in Leo rewards the courage you are already rehearsing.
